Competenze

• Ph.D. in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, CS, stats, or related field.
• 5+ years post-doctoral or industry experience in computational biology or bioinformatics.

• Strong stats knowledge and ML algorithms for biological data.

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and validate robust bioinformatics pipelines for the analysis of large-scale genomic and transcriptomic datasets.
• Develop and apply statistical and machine learning models to identify patterns, predict outcomes, and extract meaningful biological insights.
• Collaborate with experimental biologists and clinicians to define research questions and design appropriate computational approaches.
• Contribute to the interpretation of research findings and the preparation of manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals.
• Mentor junior computational biologists and provide technical guidance to research staff.
• Stay abreast of the latest advancements in computational biology, bioinformatics tools, and relevant biological domains.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
• Minimum of 5 years of post-doctoral or industry experience in computational biology or bioinformatics.
• Proven expertise in scripting languages such as Python or R, and experience with relevant bioinformatics libraries (e.g., Biopython, SciPy, Pandas).
• Strong understanding of statistical methods, machine learning algorithms, and their application to biological data.
• Hands-on experience with next-generation sequencing (NGS) data analysis (e.g., WGS, RNA-Seq).
• Familiarity with biological databases and ontologies (e.g., NCBI, Ensembl, GO).
• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and high-performance computing (HPC) environments.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented research environment.
