Job summary

Meritec in Painesville, Ohio is seeking a Molding Manufacturing Engineering Manager to lead tool procurement, tooling, automation, and process optimization for Arburg and Milacron equipment. The role focuses on achieving world-class manufacturing performance with tight tolerances and cross-functional collaboration.

You will oversee in-house tool room operations, mentor engineers, and drive continuous improvement in molding and stamping processes, including Six Sigma-driven initiatives.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Chemical Engineering (or equivalent).
• 5+ years in injection molding; connector or precision-component experience preferred.
• Working knowledge with SolidWorks and mold flow analysis software.
• Proven leadership, troubleshooting, and automation experience.
• In-depth knowledge of injection molding and stamping tools.
• Experience managing a tool room.
• Understanding tooling manufacturing, methods, and equipment.
• Proven lead technical expert in molding issues.
• Knowledge of Arburg and Milacron machines.
• Deep understanding of high-precision molding and materials (LCP).
• Experience implementing automation, reprocessing, and tooling optimization.
• Knowledge of Six Sigma methodologies.
• Excellent communication across technical and management teams.
• Ability to balance immediate impact with long-term development.
• ITAR compliance: US citizenship or permanent residency.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop in-house Tool Room and toolmaking staff.
• Mentor process and stamping engineers in high-precision molding.
• Implement molding, automation, and reprocessing to reduce waste.
• Oversee tooling and equipment sourcing to meet cost, tech, and lead-time goals.
• Ensure tight-tolerance production (±0.001" typical, ±0.0005" critical).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance manufacturability and quality.
• Other duties as assigned.
