Job summary

MITRE is seeking a high-performing Senior Software Engineer with a deep Systems Engineering background to lead modernization efforts for Modeling and Simulation capabilities. You will support Wargaming, Combat Effects, and Campaign Analysis for CPE ST3 and other government organizations, working with senior government leaders to define and execute MITRE’s work.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of related work experience with a degree; or 3 years with a Master’s; or PhD.
• Strong background in programming languages (C++, C#, Python, Rust, Java).
• Experience with systems engineering processes for complex hardware/software systems.
• Experience engaging sponsors and delivering data-driven technical products in government/industry.

Responsibilities

• Apply modeling, simulation, and software eng to develop, integrate, assess, and analyze advanced capabilities.
• Lead multi-disciplinary teams to deliver software engineering changes and best practices.
• Identify risks and opportunities and establish sponsor relationships.
• Drives adoption of agile, DevSecOps, and modern software practices across teams.
• Authours technical reports and briefings for diverse stakeholders.
