Job summary

Quest Defense is seeking a Model Based Definition Engineer to design 2D and 3D representations and MBD within Siemens NX and Teamcenter for aero-engine components.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to set tolerances, analyze root causes, and support design reviews while supporting manufacturing processes with GD&T precision. A strong aerospace background with 3+ years of aero-engine modeling is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited institution or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 3 years in 3D modeling of aero-engines and gas turbine components; Siemens NX/Teamcenter preferred.
• Strong understanding of ASME Y14.5 GD&T and interpreting technical drawings.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; able to engage with teams at all levels.
• US citizenship required; ability to obtain Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design 2D cross-sections and 3D models; create Model-Based Definitions (MBD) in Siemens NX and Teamcenter.
• Aid in redesign of externals components, investigate failures, and participate in design reviews.
• Conceptualize and design gas turbine external components and push engineering boundaries.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define constraints and tolerances for manufacturing.
• Apply GD&T to drive quality, speed, and precision improvements.
• Manage CAD/CAM projects to meet budget and schedule with uncompromising quality.
