Job summary

FastTek Global seeks a Principal Model Based Controls Engineer to lead design, modeling, simulation, and deployment of advanced control systems using MATLAB/Simulink. This senior role provides technical leadership across business units and drives governance of model-based workflows.

You will oversee MIL, SIL, and HIL testing, guide embedded software development, and ensure seamless integration with system models.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Control Systems or related field (PhD preferred).
10+ years of control systems development experience with model-based design.
Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink and model-based development methodologies.
Experience with MIL, SIL, and HIL testing environments.

Responsibilities

Lead the strategy and governance model for design, modeling, and simulation of control systems using model-based engineering tools (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink).
Lead initiatives around advanced workflows including advanced control algorithms for complex systems (e.g., automotive, HVAC, robotics, or industrial automation).
Oversee MIL, SIL, and HIL testing to verify and validate control strategies.
Guide architecture design and embedded software development for control systems.
Ensure seamless integration of control solutions with broader system modeling and simulation.
Plan and conduct non-advocate design reviews to validate solutions and enforce quality standards.
Mentor and train engineers, promoting best practices in model-based design and controls engineering.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and research institutions to drive technology advancements.
Document control strategies, simulation results, and validation processes.
Support certification and regulatory compliance for global deployment.
