Job summary

Liberty Mutual Mobility Solutions (LMMS) is seeking an experienced Underwriting Manager to lead a team of underwriters focused on sharing economy and new mobility risks. You will guide risk assessment, coverage language, pricing strategy, and broker partnerships to drive a balanced, profitable book.

The role requires a strong analytical mindset, communication skills, and the ability to mentor staff in complex account handling. A track record in strategic portfolio management is essential.

Qualifications

• Degree in Business or equivalent typically required.
• Minimum 10 years progressive underwriting experience, including a minimum of 2 years of proven underwriting management experience, preferred.
• CPCU or professional insurance designation preferred.
• Proven analytical ability to evaluate high impact underwriting risks within scope of responsibility.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate complex analyses and information.
• Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills in dealing with internal and external partners required.

Responsibilities

• Leadership: Retain, acquire and develop senior underwriting talent; mentor underwriters.
• Risk Selection: Develop strategy to evaluate risk quality in sharing economy and new mobility risks.
• Agent/Broker Relationships: Maintain high-level relationships with agents and brokers.
• Portfolio Management: Evaluate performance, profitability, and trends; define team execution strategy.
• Quality Audit and Account Review: Ensure files meet regulatory requirements and internal standards.
