Job summary

American Industrial Transport Inc. in Emmetsburg, IA is seeking a Mobile Repair Technician III to oversee comprehensive railcar repairs with minimal supervision.

This full-time, on-site role offers hourly pay ranging from $36.50 to $39.75 and a path to train junior technicians. You will read and interpret drawings, follow AAR/FRA rules, perform valve work and NDT calibration, and lead daily safety briefings while coordinating with customers and supervisors.

Qualifications

• High-school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, manuals, and blueprints.
• Ability to write routine reports and communicate effectively.
• Must pass fitness-for-duty exam, pre-employment physical, and drug screenings.
• Must understand basic mathematical concepts and solve practical problems.

Responsibilities

• Complete and maintain Mobile Repair Technician I/II functions.
• Perform shop switching and decal machinery tasks.
• Read and interpret customer drawings, procedures and work instructions.
• Lead training for Level I/II technicians as needed.
• Follow Quality Program and AAR/FRA rules and client procedures.
• Repair valves, calibrate NDT equipment, and review car owner procedures.
• Communicate effectively with customers on mobile call-outs.
• Prepare accurate car files and work orders; participate in audits.
