Qualifications

• Understanding of AAR Rules and Regulations or ability to learn quickly.
• Knowledge of railroad operations, including switching, routing, and rail repair.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness and ability to travel overnight when required.
• Physical ability to operate and climb on/off railcars and ladders.
• Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
• Ability to wear a half-mask respirator for up to 12 hours
• Ability to lift 60 to 80 pounds without mechanical assistance
• Ability to work up to 12-hour shifts when necessary
• Ability to stand for 6-12 hours on uneven surfaces and bend/stoop as needed
• Proficient English speaking and writing skills
• MSHA Part 48 certification required (training available on-site)
• Valid Driver’s License required
