Job summary

American Industrial Transport - AITX seeks Mobile Repair Technicians I and II to perform on-site railcar repairs with minimal supervision. The role includes reading repair procedures, interpreting drawings, and ensuring compliance with AAR/FRA rules and client procedures.

Training duties for junior technicians may be required. Candidates should be able to conduct safety briefings, maintain accurate repair documentation, and communicate effectively with customers during mobile call-outs.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and blueprints.
• Must be able to write routine reports and communicate effectively.
• Must possess basic math skills and understand simple mathematical concepts.

Responsibilities

• Perform mobile repair and shop switching tasks for railcars.
• Read and interpret repair procedures and drawings.
• Follow AAR and FRA rules and client procedures.
• Demonstrate leadership and train Level I/II technicians as needed.
• Create and maintain accurate work orders and repair documentation.
• Conduct safety briefings and participate in audits.
