Job summary

Hiringhood is seeking a seasoned mobile engineer to build and ship scalable React Native applications for iOS and Android. You will translate design into polished, responsive experiences with a deep focus on performance and accessibility.

In this role you will own features end-to-end, integrate native capabilities like HealthKit and push notifications, and collaborate with Product and Backend to deliver AI-powered experiences with fast, reliable releases.

Qualifications

• 4-8 years of mobile engineering experience, with strong hands-on experience shipping scaled production mobile applications.
• Strong Mobile native, React Native and TypeScript expertise; cross-platform apps; iOS/Android fundamentals under RN.
• Excellent web and mobile frontend craft; attention to UI details, accessibility and performance.
• Experience with native mobile capabilities: push notifications, deep links, authentication, permissions, background tasks, secure storage, third-party SDKs.
• Production ownership: debugging production issues, analytics, crash reporting, testing, CI/CD, App/Play releases.
• Strong product instinct; intuitive, fast, useful UX.
• High ownership and independence; small remote team.
• AI-native development mindset; use tools like Claude Codex.

Responsibilities

• Build and evolve the Genie mobile app: Develop new features and experiences in React Native across iOS and Android.
• Create and scale exceptional consumer experiences: Translate product and Figma designs into polished, responsive and intuitive interfaces with strong attention to detail.
• Build and manage native integrations: Work with Apple HealthKit, Health Connect, wearables and other mobile capabilities including push notifications, deep links, authentication, permissions and background sync at scale.
• Build AI-powered experiences: Develop conversational and personalised experiences around Ask Genie, health insights and coaching, including streaming responses, dynamic UI and thoughtful loading/error states.
• Own features end-to-end: Work directly with Product, Design and Backend from requirements and technical design through implementation, testing and production.
• Improve mobile architecture and quality: Contribute to state management, API integration, caching, secure local storage, performance, testing, observability and error handling.
• Own mobile releases & QA: Manage builds, CI/CD, App Store and Google Play releases, crash monitoring and production issues.
• Build with AI: Use modern AI development tools to improve engineering speed and quality while maintaining strong engineering standards.
