Mattermost, Inc. is hiring a Senior Mobile Engineer to own the mobile experience for defense, intelligence, and critical infrastructure teams. You will work with React Native and TypeScript, shaping cross‑platform architecture and delivering reliable, high‑performing mobile software in DDIL environments.
You will mentor others, ensure security and compliance, contribute to open source, and leverage AI tools to boost output while maintaining quality and reliability.
Mattermost is the leading collaborative workflow platform for defense, intelligence, security, and critical infrastructure. Trusted by the U.S. Department of War and Fortune 500s, our platform runs on-premises and in private clouds, delivering secure messaging, file sharing, workflow automation, audio/screenshare, and project management—all with full data and operational control. Mattermost powers high-stakes workflows across mission planning, real-time, real-world operations, DevSecOps, incident response, and cyber defense—enabling secure collaboration from tactical edge and DDIL environments to enterprise HQ. Teams operate across web, desktop, and mobile, with embedded interoperability for Microsoft Teams, Outlook, and Microsoft 365.
We are seeking a Senior Mobile Engineer to take ownership of the Mattermost mobile experience for teams working in defense, intelligence, and critical infrastructure. Our users operate in DDIL environments where connectivity may be disconnected, denied, intermittent, or limited, security is non-negotiable, and the software they depend on has to keep working.
Our mobile app is primarily React Native and TypeScript today, with native iOS and Android integrations. Your immediate focus will be making that experience more reliable and performant. Over time, you'll also help shape the next generation of our cross-platform mobile architecture.
You’ll work hands‑on across application and native layers, partner closely with platform and feature teams, work directly with customer‑facing teams on field reports from constrained environments, and help raise the bar for how we observe, diagnose, and build mobile software.
