Job summary

D.R. Horton, Inc. is looking for a Mobile Software Engineer II to independently develop and maintain mobile applications, contribute to architecture, performance optimization, and cross‑functional collaboration.

You will work with technical teams to deliver reliable mobile solutions that align with business goals. Responsibilities include building reusable components, integrating REST APIs and cloud services, troubleshooting issues, and driving improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 2–5 years of professional software development experience.
• Demonstrates expertise in mobile application architecture, including navigation, deep linking, state management, and offline storage strategies.
• Leverages modern tooling such as Expo, EAS, and CI/CD pipelines to streamline development, testing, and deployment.
• Familiarity with mobile analytics, monitoring, and observability tools.
• Experience with Expo ecosystem (EAS, Expo Router, OTA updates) preferred.
• Experience developing mobile applications and integrating backend services.
• Knowledge of mobile application architecture and software design principles.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve application defects.
• Ability to manage multiple development assignments while meeting project deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop new mobile application functionality.
• Build reusable application components and shared libraries.
• Integrate mobile applications with REST APIs, cloud services, and third‑party SDKs.
• Troubleshoot production issues and implement software enhancements.
• Perform peer code reviews and recommend improvements.
• Optimize application performance, reliability, and scalability.
• Participate in technical design discussions and sprint planning.
• Maintain technical documentation and development standards.
• Evaluate new development tools and technologies.
