Job summary

Motion Recruitment is seeking a Lead MLOps Engineer for a remote-first role. You will own ML infra, deployment platforms, and governance, bridging software engineering and ML to move models from development to production.

The position emphasizes scalable cloud platforms, observability, and collaboration with product and leadership across the Eastern Time Zone. You will design and operate production ML systems, running on AWS with containerized services, and mentor teams while driving reliability

Qualifications

• 10+ years in software, infra, or platform development.
• Led MLOps initiatives in enterprise production.
• Designed scalable distributed apps and services.
• Experience deploying ML models in production.
• Experience with Generative AI/LLMs.
• Strong CI/CD for AI/ML workloads.
• Model registries, versioning, deployment automation.
• Production software in Python and TypeScript.
• RESTful API design/consumption.
• Experience in AWS cloud environments.
• Docker and container orchestration familiarity.
• Infrastructure as Code (AWS CDK/CloudFormation).
• Monitoring, logging, reliability practices.

Responsibilities

• Own operational strategy for ML infrastructure and deployment platforms.
• Build frameworks accelerating AI delivery from experiment to production.
• Create repeatable deployment processes to improve reliability.
• Develop platform capabilities for model serving, monitoring, governance.
• Implement automation for provisioning and releases.
• Establish observability across AI services and APIs.
• Collaborate with ML engineers to improve performance & readiness.
• Drive platform scalability to meet demand.
• Define security, resiliency, and cost best practices.
• Troubleshoot production issues and lead resolutions.
• Collaborate on architecture, planning, and strategy.
• Mentor teams on MLOps and cloud engineering practices.
