Job summary

OptumTechPJ is seeking a seasoned ML Engineer to advance production ML systems in a SaaS platform. You will lead problem framing, data discovery, training, deployment, and monitoring across cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities include low-latency architectures, MLOps pipelines, model observability, and governance, with emphasis on privacy and responsible AI. This role offers remote work within the U.S. and opportunities to scale impact.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 4+ years of equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of industry experience building and operating ML systems in production.
• 3+ years of Python or C# experience.
• 3+ years of Azure experience.
• 3+ years of MLOps including CI/CD for ML, containers, Kubernetes, model registries, reproducibility, and monitoring.
• 1+ years of experience with LLMOps (prompting, retrieval-augmented generation, fine-tuning, safety).

Responsibilities

• Ship production ML systems end-to-end from problem framing to deployment and monitoring.
• Design robust ML architectures with low-latency inference and high availability.
• Build data/model pipelines using modern MLOps practices and tracing.
• Drive execution across cross-functional partners and outline executable roadmaps.
• Establish evaluation strategies and ensure rigorous metrics and A/B tests.
• Implement model observability, drift detection, and governance.
• Collaborate with product, design, data, and platform teams to translate goals into ML opportunities.
