Floor & Decor Holdings Inc. is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to build, deploy, and monitor ML models powering the digital shopping experience.

You will work on product search, personalization, and AI-assisted shopping across flooranddecor.com and FND apps, coordinating with Ecommerce Product, Engineering, Analytics, and Digital Marketing teams. The role emphasizes end-to-end ML lifecycle, from problem definition to production deployment, with a focus on measurable impact on customer

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or Economics.
• 5+ years of experience in data science or ML.
• Experience building ML for live, customer-facing digital products in eCommerce.
• Track record of taking models into production and owning them after launch.
• Depth in search/ranking or recommendations/personalization.
• Expert in Python and SQL with production-grade coding.
• Hands-on ML lifecycle experience: automated training/scoring pipelines, deployment, monitoring.
• Experience with NLP, embeddings, and large language models including retrieval and reranking.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools and framing ambiguous problems.
• Strong communication skills to explain model behavior to product/engineering leadership.

Responsibilities

• Build and improve ML models for product search and discovery using proprietary signals.
• Develop personalization and recommendation models across site and app.
• Apply LLMs and CV to enrich product attributes at catalog scale.
• Collaborate with data science leadership to define benchmarks and evaluation plans.
• Own models in production, monitor, retrain, and troubleshoot.
• Lead ML engineering standards with Databricks-based pipelines and tooling.
• Design and analyze A/B tests to measure impact on conversion and AOV.
• Document methodologies and model limitations for reproducibility.
• Stay updated on search, recommender systems, and generative AI advances.
