Zusammenfassung

Floor & Decor is seeking a Data Scientist, Digital Machine Learning to develop, deploy, and maintain ML models powering personalization, recommendations, and search driven by customer intent signals. This onsite role is based in Atlanta, GA and focuses on moving models into production and continuous improvement.

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years in data science or ML, strong Python/SQL skills, and experience deploying models in production for ecommerce or similar settings.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Economics, or a related quantitative field (advanced degree a plus).
• 3+ years of experience in data science or machine learning, including hands-on production model deployment.
• Experience building ML for live, customer-facing digital products such as search, recommendations, ranking, personalization, or ads in ecommerce or similar.
• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL, writing clean, production-ready code.
• Solid foundation in ML including classification, ranking, and recommendations.
• Familiarity with ML lifecycle practices including automated training, deployment, monitoring.
• Experience designing and analyzing A/B tests and interpreting results for business partners.
• Proficiency with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor).

Aufgaben

• Build and maintain recommendation models across site and app, including similar products and complete project recommendations.
• Develop session-based models to infer shopper intent for anonymous visitors.
• Rank content, offers, and modules across home page, category and product pages, and app.
• Improve product search through query classification, synonyms, and relevance evaluation.
• Apply LLMs and embeddings to enrich product attributes for better search and recommendations.
• Generate digital propensity and intent scores for site, app, and marketing systems.
• Contribute to shared ML assets and support vendor evaluations.
• Help bring personalization, search, and recommendations to the PRO app using purchase history and loyalty data.
• Deploy and operate models on Databricks with monitoring and retraining as needed.
• Collaborate with Data Engineering, Product, and Engineering to ensure data and event tracking for training and measurement.
• Design and analyze A/B tests for model-driven features and measure impact.
• Communicate results and recommendations to product teams and stakeholders.
• Maintain documentation of methodologies, model assumptions, and limitations; participate in code and design reviews.
• Stay current on industry trends in personalization, search, recommender systems, and applied data science.
• Follow Privacy Preferences, Responsible AI, and Security protocols for personalization.
