Job summary

Baton, the in-house product unit of Ryder, is seeking a Senior Product Manager for its Machine Learning pod in Hayes Valley, San Francisco. You will own strategy for ML initiatives, from planning and scheduling optimization to ETA prediction and Generative AI models, aligning investment with measurable value for Ryder and customers.

As an early PM, you’ll drive 0→1 definitions, partner with ML engineers and data scientists, and push pilots into production.

Qualifications

• Experience owning product strategy and roadmap for a technically complex or ML/AI-driven product.
• Experience building 0→1 products with strong user experiences or business outcomes.
• Proven track record shipping ML or Generative AI products.
• Experience taking an initiative through its full lifecycle: PoC to production and maintenance.
• Sufficient fluency in ML/AI concepts to prioritize effectively and earn engineering trust.

Responsibilities

• Lead the full product development life cycle, from need-finding to product vision and execution.
• Own product strategy and roadmap prioritization for the ML Pod's portfolio of models and AI initiatives.
• Own the initiative to improve ETA prediction accuracy and other model metrics.
• Identify and address technological constraints that limit the growth of the business unit.
• Develop proposals and research different strategies to define our short-term roadmap and long-term vision.
• Work with design to drive prototyping and early ideation of new product features across logistics workflows.
• Partner with ML/infrastructure engineers and data scientists to prioritize the backlog against business impact.
• Define the go-to-market and adoption plan for AI capabilities across Ryder's freight platforms.
• Navigate relationships to execute cross-department projects touching the organization.
• Keep a mind toward future AI/ML opportunities to shape Baton's vision for 1, 5, and 10 years.
