Job summary

Coinbase, Inc. is seeking a Senior Machine Learning Platform Engineer to own the ML inference infrastructure powering models and LLMs. You will design and maintain high-availability systems, and build streaming pipelines to deliver feature data for production models.

You will drive improvements to distributed training, develop observability tooling, and mentor junior engineers to elevate the team's engineering standards within a remote-first environment with quarterly in-person surges.

Qualifications

• 5+ years building production-grade software with distributed systems.
• Experience with low-latency data or ML infrastructure.
• Track record mentoring engineers and improving code quality.
• Familiarity with ML platform components for feature stores and model serving.

Responsibilities

• Own design and reliability of ML inference infrastructure for models and LLMs.
• Build low-latency streaming pipelines delivering fresh feature data.
• Improve distributed training infrastructure for large data volumes.
• Develop observability tooling to monitor data quality and model performance.
• Mentor junior engineers to raise engineering standards.
