Job summary

Apple Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead AI data governance initiatives in Cupertino.

You will design scalable governance and lineage systems spanning ML lifecycles, implement robust authentication and access controls, and embed privacy and regulatory requirements into backend services. You will also build batch/streaming data pipelines and REST APIs with Spring/React/Node.js to enable scalable governance workflows, while collaborating with security, legal, and data engineering

Qualifications

• 8+ years in developing Data & AI governance software or integrating systems with governance systems.
• Experience with large data collection and processing systems.
• Proficiency in data management and scalable AI applications.
• Strong understanding of privacy and regulatory requirements (GDPR, CCPA, DMA).
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in CS/IS or related field.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and deploy scalable AI and Data governance and lineage systems across ML lifecycle.
• Architect authentication and access control for training data and models using OAuth 2.0, ABAC, and federated identity.
• Develop backend services in Java, Scala, Kotlin, Go, or Python embedding privacy and regulatory requirements into workflows.
• Build batch and streaming pipelines with Spark, Hadoop, or Flink to prepare ML-ready inputs.
• Design REST APIs and SDKs with Spring/React/Node.js to manage governance approvals at scale.
• Architect large-scale serving systems on AWS/GCP/Kubernetes ensuring data integrity and auditability.
• Collaborate with security, legal, privacy, and data engineering to mitigate risk in distributed environments.
