Job summary

Burq, Inc. is hiring a Staff ML/OR engineer to define and build the intelligence at the core of Dispatch OS. You will own architecture and roadmap for ML and optimization across the platform, making key technical bets and building high-leverage models and optimization systems behind them.

This hands-on IC role will shape revenue, margin, and delivery reliability while working fully remotely with an international team.

Qualifications

• 9+ years in applied ML or ML engineering, including senior/staff level, with production models.
• Leadership in ML/optimization architecture affecting product direction over years.
• Ability to lead complex technical initiatives across teams without direct authority.
• ML/optimization systems with quantified business impact (revenue/margin).
• Experience with decision, ranking, and scoring problems that drive business actions.
• Strong quantitative/algorithmic reasoning; combinatorial problems & constraints.

Responsibilities

• Define ML/optimization roadmap for Dispatch OS and prioritize problems for ML/solvers vs heuristics.
• Design end-to-end architecture for model serving, evaluation, and optimization at scale.
• Tackle high-signal modeling/optimization problems from framing to production.
• Set standards for experimentation, evaluation, and production ML; mentor through reviews.
• Partner with Product and leadership to shape product strategy leveraging ML/OR.
