Job summary

Capital One in Plano, TX seeks a Senior Manager, Machine Learning Engineer (People Leader) to design and scale ML models, build data pipelines, and lead an Agile team across product, data science, and operations.

You will mentor engineers, promote MLOps best practices, deploy models to production on cloud platforms like AWS, and drive responsible AI with governance and explainability. Required: 6+ years in ML across Python/Java/Golang/C and PyTorch/TensorFlow.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science, Machine Learning or related quantitative field
• 6+ years programming experience in Python, Java, Golang, or C
• 6+ years ML experience with PyTorch or TensorFlow and libraries (Pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn)
• 6+ years experience with large-scale distributed systems (Spark, Ray) for AI/ML data
• 4+ years deploying ML in production and cloud (AWS/GCP/Azure) and using Kubernetes
• 1+ year of people leadership experience

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and deliver ML models and components solving business problems with Product/Data Science teams
• Scale multi-tenant platforms enabling large footprint ML model training/serving
• Inform ML infrastructure decisions with modeling techniques, data and feature selection
• Write, test application code, develop/validate ML models, automate tests and deployment
• Collaborate in an Agile team to create software for state-of-the-art ML apps
• Retrain, monitor, and maintain models in production
• Leverage cloud architectures and platforms to deliver optimized ML models at scale
• Construct data pipelines to feed ML models
• Use CI/CD, test automation, monitoring for deployment of ML models and code
• Ensure code governance and responsible AI practices; use Python/Scala/Java
