Job summary

Hugging Face is building the open voice-agent stack and seeks a senior engineer to own a large part of it. You will shape speech-to-speech and hf-voice, integrating ASR/TTS models, designing APIs, and leading a growing open-source community.

You will collaborate with multiple teams to productionize demos, run load tests, and define SLAs while working in a distributed, inclusive environment that values impact and growth.

Qualifications

• Senior engineer capable of owning substantial parts of architecture and driving it autonomously.
• Experience building developer-facing infrastructure at an AI or developer-tools company.
• Substantial open-source contributions to a Python library with async Python and distributed systems.

Responsibilities

• Own the Open-Source Library: architecture, latency budget, and real-time loop reliability.
• Integrate new ASR/TTS and end-to-end speech models as they land, keeping abstractions clean.
• Review community PRs, triage issues, cut releases, and grow the contributor base.
• Design the developer API and streaming protocol for hf-voice; ensure scalable serving and cost efficiency.
• Collaborate with Hub and inference teams to enable easy integration into products and demos.
