Job summary

Airbnb seeks a Senior Machine Learning Engineer for the Trust team to develop and productionize ML models protecting millions of users. You will design end-to-end ML solutions, train and deploy models, and collaborate with product managers, data scientists, and engineers to combat fraud and safeguard the community.

You'll tackle challenges like account takeover, fake accounts, payment fraud, and bot detection, ensuring a seamless and welcoming platform for hosts and guests.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of industry experience in applied Machine Learning; productionized models at scale.
• Proficient in Python; familiarity with Scala/Java.
• Solid understanding of ML best practices and algorithms.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with product managers, data scientists, software engineers, and operations teams to identify opportunities and refine requirements for Trust models.
• Design, build, and productionize end-to-end ML pipelines, including feature engineering, model training, evaluation, and deployment.
• Investigate fraud patterns and threat signals and develop ML-based detections and tools for faster responses.
• Write, review, and ship clean, testable code for training models and optimizing pipelines.
• Work with large-scale data to improve ML models for product and operations.
• Participate in code reviews and cross-team collaborations to maintain quality ML engineering culture.
• Adapt models and systems to evolving fraud landscape with Trust and Platform teams.
