Job summary

Roblox is seeking a Senior Engineer for Text Safety to advance large-scale AI safety systems. You will design and own critical AI components, partner with product, policy, and safety teams, and drive scalable moderation capabilities across Roblox properties.

The role emphasizes delivering high‑quality, safe user experiences at scale. You will collaborate across engineering, data, and safety disciplines, shaping the next generation of AI-driven safety tools.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience designing, building, and deploying large‑scale machine learning systems in production environments.
• Graduate degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative, solution‑oriented approach to problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and own critical components of AI-based text safety systems with emphasis on usability, reliability, scalability, and performance.
• Implement robust AI services to ensure text quality across Roblox properties (Avatar, Game Description, etc.).
• Advance AI infrastructure by developing frameworks and APIs to support text filtering for hundreds of clients in Roblox.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver scalable data and AI solutions powering next‑generation safety systems.
• Develop text safety quality metrics and evaluation tooling for ongoing quality iteration.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and push innovation in AI to enhance user and platform safety.
