Lever, Inc. is seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer for ML Recall based in Spain.

You will build and optimize retrieval systems for a multilingual, multi-domain ecommerce search engine with millisecond latency, end-to-end model ownership, and live traffic experimentation. You will work on dense and sparse retrieval, visual search, and multimodal capabilities, leveraging transformer models in a fully remote environment.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience building and shipping production machine learning systems.
• Experience with search, information retrieval, or related ML applications.
• Hands-on experience training, fine-tuning, and evaluating transformer-based models.
• Strong Python and PyTorch skills; production ML solutions.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize modern search retrieval systems using dense and sparse models.
• Balance retrieval quality with strict latency requirements for millisecond responses.
• Develop end-to-end visual and multimodal search capabilities and image search features.
• Train, deploy, and monitor deep learning models across multiple products.
• Collaborate with other ML and engineering teams to scale models in production.
