Job summary

Quora is seeking an experienced machine learning engineer to join the distribution team, focusing on recommendation systems such as feed, notifications, and digest emails. You will own ML pipelines and production systems, build features, and collaborate across teams to push product value.

You will work in a remote-first environment with high autonomy, contributing to Quora's mission to grow the world’s collective intelligence through data-driven ranking and personalization.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional experience working on recommendation or ranking models.
• BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Strong understanding of mathematical foundations behind ML algorithms.
• Experience building end-to-end machine learning systems.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Improve existing ML ranking models using core coding and ML knowledge.
• Take end-to-end ownership of ML systems: data pipelines, feature engineering, training, deployment.
• Identify new opportunities to apply ML across the Quora product.
• Collaborate with other ML engineers to implement efficient algorithms and systems.
