Job summary

Quora is seeking an experienced machine learning engineer to join our distribution team, focusing on ranking models for feed, notifications, and digest emails. You will own end-to-end systems, from data pipelines to production integration, applying advanced ML techniques across Quora’s product.

The role emphasizes independence, collaboration with fellow ML engineers, and building scalable, high-impact solutions in a remote-first environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in recommendation or ranking models.
• BS, MS, or PhD in CS, Engineering, or related field.
• Strong knowledge of mathematical foundations of machine learning.
• Experience building end-to-end machine learning systems.

Responsibilities

• Improve our existing machine learning ranking models.
• Take end-to-end ownership of ML systems - data pipelines, feature engineering, model training, and production integration.
• Identify new opportunities to apply ML to other parts of the Quora product.
• Collaborate with other ML engineers to implement efficient algorithms and systems.
