Job summary

DiDi Autonomous Driving seeks an experienced Machine Learning Engineer to advance the ML-powered planning system for Voyager's autonomous driving platform. You will work with frontier ML techniques, utilizing vast real-world data to improve model performance, safety, and deployment scalability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's/Master's/PhD in Computer Science, ML, Robotics, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years (Senior) or 5+ years (Staff) in ML, autonomous driving, robotics, or related fields.
• Proven track record deploying ML models in production for real-time/embedded/autonomous systems.
• Strong Python and C++ with production-grade software experience and DL frameworks (PyTorch, JAX, TF).
• Deep learning with transformers, BEV/3D representations, and trajectory modeling; training/evaluation/debugging.
• Foundations in linear algebra, control theory, and motion planning including lane/road geometry.
• Experience applying ML to motion planning and integrating with traditional planning methods.
• Ability to own ambiguous technical challenges end to end with safety and reliability focus.
• Publications or open-source contributions indicating technical impact.

Responsibilities

• Develop ML-powered systems for driving behavior decisions, scene understanding, and trajectories.
• Frame real-world driving challenges as ML problems and apply imitation learning, RL, learned planners, and end-to-end models.
• Design data-driven algorithms to improve safety, generalization, and reliability in planning and perception.
• Create hybrid planning solutions combining ML with rule-based and optimization-based methods.
• Evaluate large-scale ML models with real-world driving data and simulation; deploy into production under latency constraints.
• Build infrastructure for rapid iteration: scenario mining, training/evaluation pipelines, and closed-loop simulation.
• Collaborate with ML Infra, Perception, Prediction, Planning, Mapping and Systems teams to drive end-to-end improvements.
