Job summary

Reddit, Inc. is seeking a Senior/Staff Machine Learning Engineer for the Answers Relevance team in the United States.

You will lead ML projects from idea to production, collaborating across product, data science, and engineering to surface relevant conversations and improve recommendations, search, and AI features. The role requires extensive experience in building and deploying ML systems, strong Python skills, and expertise with TensorFlow, PyTorch or Hugging Face transformers.

Qualifications

• 4–12 years of experience building, deploying, and operating ML systems in production.
• Broad knowledge of ML fundamentals and applying them in production.
• Experience with ML systems such as data pipelines, feature engineering, model training and serving, and monitoring.
• Experience writing production-quality code; Python required; Golang a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build and improve large-scale ML systems, including retrieval and ranking, embeddings, and LLM-powered features.
• Set technical direction and deliver measurable user and business impact.
• Collaborate with product and engineering to shape roadmaps.
• Evaluate new AI/ML approaches and support responsible LLM development.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to long-term ML planning.
