Job summary

Scale is seeking a Senior MLE to own the application of generative AI, agentic AI, computer vision, and reinforcement learning to mission-critical government systems in production. You’ll lead architectures, implement end-to-end capabilities, and ensure models perform under strict security and compliance constraints.

You will collaborate with product and research teams, mentor engineers, and translate stakeholder needs into technical direction while working with government users and handling

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience building and deploying applied ML systems in production.
• Experience with GenAI, Agentic AI, NLP, deep learning and deep reinforcement learning, or computer vision in production.
• Ownership of architectural decisions and defending tradeoffs behind them.
• Experience shipping agentic systems with real production traffic and evaluation rigor.
• Strong programming skills in Python; experience with PyTorch or TensorFlow.

Responsibilities

• Own the design and delivery of agent capabilities end to end — architecture, implementation, and evaluation.
• Define new patterns in unestablished problem spaces and lead the build.
• Deploy state-of-the-art models into production to solve customer problems.
• Improve production models and agents via retraining, hyperparameter tuning, and architecture updates.
• Build agent evaluation benchmarks and verifiers to drive performance improvements.
