Job summary

Robinhood is looking for a Senior Staff Machine Learning Engineer to define and uphold the quality bar for ML systems across the organization. You will design evaluation frameworks and partner with product, data science, and engineering teams to ensure models meet standards for correctness, safety, latency, and user satisfaction.

This role is based in our Bellevue, WA or Menlo Park, CA offices, with in-person attendance expected at least 3 days per week, providing opportunities to influence

Qualifications

• Experience building complex and impactful production ML models and systems.
• Experience with traditional ML models and deep learning; LLMs/Transformers a plus.
• Deep experience defining and measuring quality for ML systems using evaluation frameworks, datasets, and scorecards.
• Ability to analyze production issues and lead quality-improvement initiatives across teams.
• Comfortable working with engineers, data scientists, and product partners to deliver measurable improvements.

Responsibilities

• Build and evaluate models across quality, latency, cost, and edge cases.
• Translate evaluation results into launch criteria for AI systems with cross-functional teams.
• Analyze production issues and prioritize improvements to reliability and performance.
• Build visibility into model performance via metrics, monitoring, and reporting.
