Job summary

Zscaler is seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer (remote, USA) to join the AI Platform and Data Science team. You will develop data-driven security analysis solutions using AI, ML, and data engineering to detect threats with high fidelity while minimizing noise.

You will work closely with threat research, data engineering, and platform teams to build scalable pipelines, deploy in CI/CD, and monitor production systems secure by design.

Qualifications

• Experience building LLM-powered agents in production with tool calls and evaluation.
• 3+ years Python development; production-quality systems with validated inputs, data contracts, and tests; SQL and pandas/NumPy.
• Ownership of production reliability: CI/CD, containerization, logging, metrics, observability, on-call, and AWS familiarity.
• Senior-level ownership and leadership of projects, development and testing.

Responsibilities

• Translate risk identification methods into agent logic and ensure quality across tasks.
• Collaborate with threat research to understand data and heuristics.
• Identify data requirements and work with data engineering for pipelines and enrichments.
• Follow data-driven threat-detection with backtesting, precision/recall balance, tuning, quality control.
• Deploy and monitor solutions in production within CI/CD framework.
