Job summary

Zest for Tech in New York City is seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to shape the next generation of agentic AI systems. The role combines ownership of core platform capabilities across search, retrieval, and multi-agent orchestration with hands-on development in production environments.

You will design scalable pipelines for document processing, advance knowledge graphs, and drive end-to-end experiments from concept to rollout, joining a Series B startup at a pivotal scaling moment.

Qualifications

• 7+ years building and deploying ML/AI systems in production.
• Experience with document processing pipelines and knowledge graphs.
• Proficiency in Python or Go with a production mindset.
• Experience designing scalable distributed systems and orchestration frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Own core AI platform capabilities across search, retrieval, and multi-agent systems.
• Design and develop multi-agent architectures and collaboration patterns.
• Build and scale document processing pipelines from ingestion to structured data extraction.
• Improve search, ranking, and QA for robust retrieval and understanding.
• Grow knowledge graph capabilities for reasoning and entity relationships.
• Lead AI initiatives from concept to production rollout.
• Create evaluation frameworks to measure system quality.
• Write production-grade code and shape engineering best practices.
