Job summary

OpenAI, Inc. in San Francisco, CA, is seeking a Senior ML Data Scientist to lead forecasting initiatives across product, finance, and infrastructure. You will build scalable time-series models, own the modeling lifecycle from scope to deployment, and produce interpretable forecasts powering strategic decisions.

You will collaborate with product managers, researchers, and engineers to operationalize insights, monitor models in production, and drive adoption of self-service forecasting tools.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in a quantitative field (MS/PhD).
• 7+ years of applied data science with forecasting experience.
• Strong time-series forecasting fundamentals and practical trade-offs.

Responsibilities

• Build statistical and machine learning models for forecasting across product, finance, infrastructure, and GTM domains.
• Own the end-to-end modeling lifecycle: scoping, feature engineering, development, experimentation, deployment, monitoring, explanation.
