Job summary

Cognitiv in San Mateo, CA, is seeking a senior ML infrastructure engineer to design and scale our data platforms powering ad tech.

You will own feature pipelines, embeddings, and training workflows, collaborating with data scientists and engineers to improve latency, throughput, and reliability.

The role offers a hybrid schedule and a compensation package including base salary and equity.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of hands‑on ML infrastructure / data platform experience.
• Proficiency in Python, Java, or Scala for building data pipelines.
• Domain knowledge in AdTech and distributed data processing.
• Experience with Spark, Flink, Kafka and modern data stacks.
• Strong communication and cross‑functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Architect and maintain low-latency feature pipelines for real-time bidding.
• Build and optimize high-throughput feature pipelines (batch/real-time).
• Integrate embeddings via ML models and ensure sub-millisecond serving SLAs.
• Own model training pipelines, optimize speed and resource use.
• Set standards for monitoring, CI/CD across feature and training infra.
• Collaborate with Modeling, Data Science, and Engineering teams.
