Job summary

Elanco is seeking a Senior ML & Computer Vision Scientist in Indianapolis to accelerate its R&D portfolio by turning complex data into predictive models for drug discovery and development. You will partner with scientists to build ML/CV models across molecular, in vitro, ADMET, and imaging data for target identification and biomarker endpoints.

Qualifications

• PhD in a quantitative field or Master’s with substantial ML/CV experience.
• 7+ years of industry experience building and deploying ML/CV models in biomedical/pharma contexts.
• Strong Python skills with PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn, OpenCV; solid stats and experimental design.

Responsibilities

• Lead ML/CV work for key R&D programs with scientists to translate targets into modeling problems.
• Design, build, and validate advanced ML and CV models (CNNs, transformers, GNNs) on multi-modal data.
• Shape data collection, labeling standards, and synthetic data usage while managing bias and risk.
• Operationalize models in R&D workflows, integrating with Databricks and guiding governance.
• Provide technical leadership and mentor junior scientists, and communicate results to diverse stakeholders.
