Job summary

Elanco is seeking an R&D Intern for Summer 2027 in Indianapolis, IN. You will lead a data-driven project supporting clinical development, regulatory, and innovation processes through AI/ML and statistical methods.

You will work with mechanistic biology, AI & data strategy, clinical development, statistics, and regulatory teams. Responsibilities include executing project deliverables with impact, curating diverse data sets, and communicating insights.

Qualifications

• Education in STEM or quantitative field with degree (Bachelor/Master/PhD).
• Academic progress: must return to degree program after internship.
• Strong problem-solving and data-driven thinking required.

Responsibilities

• Execute project deliverables with hypothesis-driven approach and clear business impact.
• Manage and curate datasets (biological, clinical, real-world) to identify trends.
• Apply quantitative methods (statistical modeling, AI/ML, mechanistic reasoning) to questions.
• Collaborate with scientists, clinicians, data scientists, and regulatory experts.
• Present progress and interim results to supervisor and project team.
• Deliver final presentation outlining objectives, methods, results, and learnings.
