Job summary

Etsy is hiring ML Engineers (Senior/Staff) to join Search and Discovery teams in the New York area. You will own end-to-end ML models across ranking, retrieval, and ads, and deploy them at scale for a two-sided marketplace with many buyers and sellers.

You’ll collaborate with engineers, data scientists and product managers, apply state‑of‑the‑art ML techniques, and run live experiments to quantify impact. Attainable via hybrid work near Brooklyn.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience training, deploying, monitoring, debugging, and iterating on production ML systems in search, recommendation, and/or ads.
• Experience applying ML and IR techniques to real-world problems at scale.
• Ability to write clear, testable, maintainable code and lead from design to delivery.

Responsibilities

• Prototype, optimize, and productionize large-scale ML models end-to-end.
• Design and run online and offline A/B experiments to measure impact.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineers, data scientists, PMs and designers.
• Develop ranking, retrieval, or ads models to improve relevance and revenue.
