Job summary

Roblox is seeking a Principal Machine Learning Engineer for Content Safety in San Mateo, CA. You will set the 3–5 year ML strategy, own the roadmap, and lead cross-functional teams to deploy scalable safety systems.

You will balance user freedom with civility, work on state-of-the-art ML techniques, and ship production-ready software while collaborating with product, policy, and engineering leaders.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience designing, developing, and operating large-scale ML systems.
• Long-term technical direction for an ML domain.
• Deep expertise in CV and/or Vision-Language Models.
• Experience in scalable, real-time ML inference services and data pipelines.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and align stakeholders.
• Strong product sense and strategic planning for safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Define and own the multi-year technical vision and roadmap for ML in Content Safety.
• Partner with Product, Data Science, Policy and Operations leaders to prioritize ML initiatives.
• Lead adoption of innovative ML techniques and safe deployment practices.
• Build datasets, automate labeling pipelines, and ship end-to-end solutions.
• Integrate work into production stacks with modern AI tooling.
