Job summary

Rivian’s Autonomy organization is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, ML Applications to join the Data & Cloud team. You will build large-scale applications and data pipelines on cloud services, owning ML/DL infrastructure and data annotation tools.

You’ll collaborate with architects, ML engineers, and data engineers to move fast with reliable, observable software for petabyte-scale sensor data. You will design backend APIs (Go/Python), create full-stack interfaces (TypeScript/React), and manage

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s/Master’s/PhD in Computer Science or related field, or 6+ years of industry experience.
• Strong backend experience in Python, Go, or Java.
• Experience with full-stack development (JavaScript/TypeScript, React).
• Hands-on with MongoDB and PostgreSQL; NoSQL at scale is a plus.
• Proven ability to own features or services end-to-end and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Own backend and API design and implementation (Go/Python).
• Build full-stack web apps (TypeScript, React) for internal ML teams.
• Manage data persistence with MongoDB and PostgreSQL; NoSQL at scale.
• Collaborate with architects, ML/data engineers on requirements and design.
• Deploy services/pipelines with CI/CD, Git, Kubernetes, AWS.
• Optimize cloud infrastructure for cost, performance and reliability.
• Uphold quality through testing and code reviews.
• Mentor peers on engineering standards and best practices.
