Job summary

Accelerant is seeking a Data Scientist to develop machine learning and AI systems that improve decisions across pricing, underwriting, portfolio management, operations, and claims. You’ll tackle structured data, text, documents, and external sources, applying statistical modeling and agentic AI to solve real-world problems.

This is not a simple dashboard role; you’ll identify approaches, build production-ready solutions, and measure business impact.

Qualifications

• A strong quantitative foundation: statistics, probability, optimisation, or applied mathematics.
• Sound modelling judgement for real-world performance beyond validation sets.
• Strong programming skills in relevant languages and tools.
• Willingness to work with LLMs and agentic AI as everyday tools.
• Clear communication with both technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Develop machine learning and AI systems to improve pricing, underwriting, portfolio management, operations and claims.
• Work on structured data, text, documents, and external data sources using modern ML techniques.
• Build production-ready models and measure business impact of your work.
• Collaborate across engineers, actuaries, underwriters, product managers and leaders to scale ML solutions.
