Job summary

Kratos Defense & Rocket Support Services, Inc. seeks a Principal Software Architect to guide the technical vision, architecture, and sustainment of SPY-1 software at Crane, IN. You will lead diverse teams through the full software lifecycle in regulated environments.

The role requires hands-on architectural leadership, strong delivery discipline, and the ability to align software with operational needs and engineering objectives while ensuring cybersecurity and hosting compliance.

Qualifications

• Ten+ years of software engineering and architecture experience.
• Experience delivering for complex, mission-critical systems.
• Experience with APIs, modular services, containers.
• Experience establishing release processes, CI/CD, automated testing.
• Ability to obtain/maintain security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain software architecture, standards, development roadmap and governance for SPY-1 software capabilities.
• Lead design, development, modernization, integration, test, deployment, and sustainment of SPY-1 software and mission support applications.
• Architect and deliver AI-enabled tools to improve troubleshooting and analytics.
• Lead integration among AN/SPY-1 software, test equipment, and adjacent systems.
• Establish software configuration management, version control, release readiness criteria, automated testing, and deployment processes.
• Partner with systems engineers, cybersecurity, and program leadership to align solutions with needs.
• Oversee software verification and validation activities, defect triage, and performance evaluation.
• Ensure cybersecurity and government hosting requirements are met.
• Develop architecture artifacts, interface control docs, and operational materials.
• Assess emerging technologies and recommend practical AI/data platform adoption.
