Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation is seeking a Senior Project Engineer specializing in Signal & Image Processing and Modeling & Simulation Engineering for DoD space programs. This role requires leading advanced architecture efforts, guiding tracking and warning systems, and providing technical leadership to SDA and Aerospace teams.

You will collaborate with senior stakeholders, oversee modeling and simulation tools, and ensure alignment with warfighter requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in engineering, math, computer science, physics, or related field.
• 12+ years of progressive engineering experience in space systems with leadership growth.
• Experience in MWTD space vehicle development, test, or space-to-ground integration.
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
• Data-driven analysis skills and the ability to communicate clearly with stakeholders.
• Willingness to travel domestically ~10% and holding a TS/SCI clearance (US citizenship required).

Responsibilities

• Lead mission architecture development for DoD space-based missile warning and tracking systems.
• Serve as technical advisor to SDA leadership, guiding MWTD architecture and requirements.
• Drive proliferation of LEO constellations and related space architecture concepts.
• Provide systems engineering guidance for contract execution and on-orbit operations planning.
• Direct engineering teams to validate performance and inform acquisition decisions.
• Bridge requirements, contractor oversight, and operations from concept to fielded systems.
