Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation is seeking a Senior Project Engineer for Signal & Image Processing and Modeling & Simulation Engineering to lead mission architecture for DoD space-based missile warning and tracking systems. This full-time, on-site role supports SDA Tracking, guides systems engineering and requirements, and requires a current TS/SCI clearance with US citizenship.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in engineering, math, computer science, physics, or related discipline.
• 12+ years of progressive space systems engineering experience with leadership.
• Experience in Missile Warning, Tracking, and Defense (MWTD) space vehicle development or integration.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams in fast-paced environments.
• Strong communication skills and ability to influence outcomes with data-driven analysis.
• Willingness to travel domestically ~10%.
• Current TS/SCI clearance; US citizenship required to obtain clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead mission architecture development for DoD space-based warning/tracking systems and support SDA leaders.
• Advise SDA leadership on MWTD architecture, modeling, requirements, acquisition support, and integration.
• Drive proliferated LEO constellation design and interface with SDA leaders, DoD, and partners.
• Provide mission systems engineering to guide contract execution, on-orbit ops planning, and tech roadmaps.
• Direct teams to validate performance and support billion-dollar acquisition decisions; monitor contractor execution.
• Bridge requirements, contractor oversight, and on-orbit testing for tracking integration.
