Job summary

Avion Solutions, Inc. in Huntsville, AL is seeking a Missile Flight Test Engineer to support US Army Space and Missile Defense Command. The role requires extensive flight test and defense systems engineering experience, DoD program familiarity, and the ability to coordinate with government and contractor teams.

The candidate must be a U.S. citizen with an active DoD security clearance and be willing to travel up to 25%.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering, Physics, or related scientific discipline
• 8+ years of flight test/defense or aerospace engineering experience
• Experience in DoD/DoW systems engineering, integration and test operations
• Familiarity with ballistic missile target subsystems (boosters, guidance, GNC, flight termination, payloads)
• Experience at MRTFB sites (e.g., WSMR, PMRF) and with RCC/UDS documentation processes
• Excellent written, oral, and presentation skills to brief senior government personnel

Responsibilities

• Provide technical assistance and program execution support to ballistic missile target engineering and test resources
• Support lifecycle management of USASMDC target programs with government PMs and engineers
• Assist in requirements tracking, risk/opportunity management, design reviews and test evaluation
• Produce and review technical planning and mission execution documentation; participate in working groups and briefing materials
• Interface with program offices and contractor personnel; perform other duties as assigned
