Job summary

Kinross Gold Corporation in Round Mountain, Nevada, seeks a seasoned Projects Supervisor to oversee capital and non-capital initiatives within the Projects Department, aligning daily work with Kinross values. This full-time on-site role reports to the Projects Superintendent and focuses on scheduling, safety, and cost control in a mining environment.

You will coordinate with on-site stakeholders, prepare SOWs, review bids, issue PTWs, and lead weekly project meetings to keep work on schedule.

Qualifications

• Must be a self-starter.
• Must be willing to devote the time required to complete capital projects and be on call during off time if needed.
• Knowledge of pump and piping systems, structural design, conveyor systems, electrical and instrumentation and control is preferred.
• Knowledge of project structure and supervision is preferred.
• The ability to effectively manage the development of all projects assigned.
• A minimum of five years' experience working in the mining or construction industry.
• Strong verbal, written, analytical and persuasive skills and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees and management.
• Must be able to balance resource allocations with changing priorities as required.
• Knowledge in the JDE and Microsoft Office programs is preferred.
• Must be a salaried person and have a minimum of 5 years supervisory experience required.
• Requires valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Support Projects and Operational groups on site as assigned.
• Liaise between stakeholders and RMGC to meet engineering specs and supervision requirements.
• Write and review SOWs when required for each project.
• Review bids and evaluate with the stakeholders which proposal to recommend to Supply Chain.
• Write PTW (Permit to Work) for departments and business partners when needed.
• Understand and continuously monitor schedules and priorities set by the Projects team and business partners assigned to each project to stay on schedule and costs.
• Oversee business partner activities in the field to ensure efficient, safe operations and make recommendations for revised procedures when problems are encountered.
• Schedule and lead weekly meetings for each project between Projects, all affected Departments and Business partners to discuss updates and schedule.
• Communicate in a timely manner when schedule affects other Departments when work area is affected and/or shutdowns are required.
• Review invoices to ensure accuracy and notify if any discrepancies are found.
• Ensure consistency in the application of company policies.
• Perform other related functions as assigned by Superintendent.
• Consistently exercise discretion and judgment in job performance.
• Maintaining a high level of confidentiality in the workplace and off work is crucial for protecting sensitive information, ensuring trust, and adhering to legal and ethical standards.
