Job summary

Burns & McDonnell seeks a senior mine water management professional to lead technical delivery across the mining lifecycle in the US. You will shape strategies, oversee water balance, treatment, and reuse, and integrate analyses with permitting, construction, and operations.

You will mentor staff, collaborate with permitting and construction teams, and contribute to proposals and cost estimates while maintaining high client satisfaction and project performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in civil, environmental, chemical, or mechanical engineering from an accredited program.
  • 13+ years of progressive experience in mine water management or related fields with mining projects.
  • Experience with mine water balance development and hydrologic/hydrogeologic data interpretation.
  • Experience interfacing with clients and supporting proposal development and cost estimating.
  • Ability to manage or support projects with scope, schedule, budget and financial performance.
  • Experience collaborating with design/construction teams and performing constructability reviews.
  • Strong technical writing and communication skills for diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Provide senior technical leadership for mine water planning and execution across the mining lifecycle.
  • Lead mine water strategies, including water balance, treatment, reuse and water stewardship approaches.
  • Direct hydrologic/hydrogeologic analyses and scenario-based modeling.
  • Design and evaluate mine water infrastructure with constructability focus.
  • Mentor engineers and scientists; develop internal tools and best practices.
