Qualifications

• National Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Mining Engineering, or a related field.
• Professional registration with SACPCMP or SAIOSH.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a safety officer or inspector in a mining environment.
• In-depth knowledge of South African mining safety legislation (Mine Health and Safety Act).
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and report-writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with health and safety legislation.
• Identify hazards and risks in mining operations and implement control measures.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses; determine root causes and actions.
• Develop and deliver safety training programs for employees at all levels.
