Job summary

Equinox Gold is seeking a Mine Rescue Chief to lead the health and safety program for a new Nevada project. You will develop and maintain emergency plans, firefighting procedures, evacuation protocols, and cyanide response procedures in line with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.

You will coordinate medical response and responder training, drills, tabletop exercises, and scenario-based simulations to ensure readiness across the site.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in emergency response or mine rescue, preferably in mining.
• 5+ years of leadership in Chief/Emergency Response Leader roles.
• 5+ years in mining, mineral processing, heavy industrial operations, or emergency services.
• 3+ years of MSHA regs, International Cyanide Management Code, hazmat, crisis management systems.
• Strong knowledge of Incident Command System and emergency planning processes.
• Proven ability to train, coach, and mentor emergency responders.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain emergency response plans and procedures.
• Coordinate cyanide response training and drills across teams.
• Lead Mine Rescue/Emergency Response Team capabilities for surface operations.
• Deliver competency-based training for responders and incident command.
• Support investigations, root-cause analyses, and corrective actions.
• Ensure equipment, PPE, and response resources are maintained and ready.
