Job summary

OceanaGold Haile in South Carolina seeks a Technical Services planning engineer to oversee open-pit planning, drill & blast design, and short- and long-range schedules. You will lead the team to ensure safe, efficient operations and strong ore recovery.

You will maintain design databases, improve planning processes, and collaborate with mine operations to meet monthly and quarterly targets in a safety-driven environment. Experience with Deswik and MS Office is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mining engineering from an accredited university.
• 5–8+ years of mining experience; open pit exposure.
• Experience in gold mining industry preferred; open pit.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office; Deswik a plus.
• Ability to work in both office and field environments.
• Ability to access active mining areas and wear PPE.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to enable zero-harm in the Technical Services team.
• Develop and maintain critical controls documentation and SOPs.
• Lead daily, weekly, and 3-month mine and dump planning to maximize efficiency.
• Improve mining software usage and explore new technical solutions.
• Collaborate with mine operations to meet monthly plan requirements.
• Monitor plans to achieve critical-path targets and ore recovery.
• Support safety programs and field verifications of controls.
